We Missed You!

School has officially started! (A week or two ago…) Everyone’s preparing for another amazing school year. There are some things that may remain the same, like the building your classes are in, your favorite spot to grab a snack on campus, the scorching weather and humid dorm room, etc.

We’re all adjusting to a lot of new things too! New classes, new professors, new unassigned-assigned seats, new sense of existential dread, etc. This year also brings new opportunities to connect with other poets, writers, spectators, and performers!

Whether you’re excited to take the stage for the first time, hang out with other cool people, or share what you’ve been working on recently; we’ll have time and space for it all.

Our First Meeting

Enough small talk, when’s the band getting back together?! When can we start slamming things? Will there be slamming things? (In doors, preferably.)

Yes! There will be slamming! Not that kind though, and that’s alright!

Our first meeting is [REDACTED] at [REDACTED] in the [REDACTED]!

That’s where you come in. We actually don’t have a first meeting planned—yet. Please take a portion of your precious time to fill out our availability finder. Each semester we send out a Google Form to calibrate when students are able to gather each week. The structure of our club requires weekly meetings, but they are NOT mandatory. The format is usually 3 regular meetings and 1 slam/event a month. These “regular meetings” can be anything, usually having a section of time dedicated to writing and practicing for the slam or event.

There’s no pressure if you can’t attend or can only come for some of the time. We’re super chill! The point of the form is to find a time that works for the majority of students interested.

There’s no homework or anything else for you to do, so no pressure! We’ll reach back out when we have a date, time, and location solidified. All responses to the newsletter will be forwarded to [email protected], so feel free to email us there with questions as well.

Thank you and see ya soon!
