Hello and Good Morning!
We hope you had a great weekend and an awesome Superbowl Sunday! We will be meeting this Friday, February 14th, 4-6pm in Meeting Room 272. This will be an opportunity to workshop and practice any poems as well as unpack what happens at the IPA SLAM Season Qualifier TOMMOROW NIGHT! For an added challenge and in the spirit of the holiday, bring your favorite love poem!
Reminders!

The IPA STATE QUALIFIER is next Tuesday, February 11th, 7-9pm in the Interpreters’ Theatre in Lang Hall. If you have not registered these is still time! Please have at least 2-3 poems ready to be performed in the event that you advance to the final round. Do not let lack of poems deter you, we are here to help you prepare and workshop your poems. Please read over all the material for this competition. It is an incredible way to network with and compete against poets from all over the state and soon, the country!

MESSAGE FROM INNER WEATHER!
Inner Weather — UNI's student literary and art magazine, run by students — has extended our deadline for submissions. We've received 30 submissions of fiction, creative nonfiction, poetry, and art for the 2025 issue, but we've heard from several of you who haven't yet submitted that an extra two weeks would make the difference. So here you go: the new deadline is Saturday, Feb. 15.
Thank you to everyone who has already submitted. We plan to make publication decisions on or before March 1, so keep an eye on your inbox.
Email your creative work to [email protected] with the genre of your entry (fiction, nonfiction, poetry, or art) and the title of your work in the subject line. If submitting in more than one genre, send your work in separate emails for each genre. For written work, please make sure your title appears in both the file and the filename.
Fiction and Creative Nonfiction: 3500-word limit, .docx, .rtf, or .odt
Poetry: 5 poem limit, each poem on a separate page, 12 pages max, .docx, .rtf, or .odt
Creative writing in a language besides English will be considered with an accompanying English translation.
Art: 5 piece limit. .tiff format, 300dpi. Drawing, painting, digital, sculpture (pictures), stills of performance art, and photography. Please include medium, year, and dimensions. We are looking for cover art and interior art.
