Meeting this Friday!

Good Afternoon!

This week we will be meeting Friday October 4th, 6-7:30 in Bartlett 1017 once again.

As a reminder, due to participation and differing schedules, we will be meeting alternating weeks on Fridays and alternating weeks on Wednesdays, both days 6-7:30pm unless notified of a change.

The current dates are Fri Oct 4th, Wed Oct 9th, Fri Oct 18, Wed Oct 23, and so on.

Last year we had an event called the “Spooky Scary Slam”, which was a Halloween themed poetry slam. We had judges, catered food, prizes, and everyone arrived in costume. We will be doing this event again the last week of October, date to be determined. This is LAST YEARS poster and doesn’t reflect the upcoming event.

We will have opportunities to write, practice, and get started on planning this years slam, as well as deciding what food to cater. If you have any ideas for food please let us know!

We will also be starting our requests for in-kind donations, usually gift cards or coupons from local businesses and organizations! These businesses will be our “sponsors” for the event and receive special recognition during the event.

Please let us know if you know any businesses that may be interested as we’ll also be going over the script and process for asking/picking up donations.

We will be setting up a time to table in the union closer to the event, to spread word of the slam and recruit participants and attendees, so let us know if you’d be able to help with something like that!
